The Most Expensive MetaZoo Cards Sold – November 2023

Brian Cooper  By Brian Cooper | Updated on January 9, 2024

Hey there, fellow MetaZoo enthusiast! MetaZoo cards have been riding the TCG rollercoaster for months now and I thought it would be a good time to check out the most expensive MetaZoo cards from the end of 2023.

As a collector and investor, you know that MetaZoo isn’t just a game but it’s also a universe of rare treasures and sometimes thrilling finds.

These cards aren’t just pieces of cardboard, but rather they’re treasures worth big bucks if you find the right ones.

In the last few months, prices for most MetaZoo booster boxes have fallen off a cliff. Some boxes that were selling for $75-$100 each are now selling for $50-$60.

I just picked up a few Wilderness boxes the other day on eBay for $35 including tax and shipping! However, there are still some great cards to be found that are still worth big bucks. And if I’m lucky, maybe I’ll find a GREEN MAN Secret Rare in one of those boxes!

So although box prices have come down, it’s still a great opportunity to find some very elusive cards worth big dollars. Let’s dive into the five most recently sold, priciest MetaZoo cards and discover what makes them so special.

1. MetaZoo Seance SPOILER Satanic Panic – $25,000

MetaZoo Satanic Panic

This is a card that I only recently found out about myself. Sometimes between Magic, MetaZoo, Sorcery and Lorcana (all of which I’m obsessed over), you don’t learn about every crazy card out there that you can find. The MetaZoo Seance Spoiler Satanic Panic! is just one of those cards.

Now I’m not a huge fan of the card name, but I can tell you that it’s not stopping this card from being extremely pricey. A graded version of this card just recently sold for $25,000 on eBay if you can believe it.

Is this a true sale and not just some bullsh*t that someone is pulling to inflate prices?  Quite possibily that’s what’s going on here but there’s a possibility it’s worth all of that $25K.

The MetaZoo Seance SPOILER Satanic Panic! is not an easy card to find and right now it’s possible this one sold on eBay is the only one in existence.

There are probably others out there, but my guess is they’ve not been made public yet or they’re still hidden inside MetaZoo Seance Spoiler Packs.

What makes this one so unique from the normal version found in Seance packs? Well, this SPOILER version is stamped with the foil Seance logo and again is only found in Spoiler Packs.

Where can you get MetaZoo Spoiler Packs?

These Spoiler packs contain ONE stamped card from the set and are usually given away at Comic Cons and Collect-A-Cons around the country where MetaZoo visits. In this case, the Seance Spoiler Packs were given out at the NYCC (New York Comic Con) and the Denver Collect-A-Con in 2022.

The scarcity of this particular card amplifies its value, and finding one is akin to a treasure hunt requiring patience and a LOT of luck.

2. MetaZoo Wilderness Golden Ticket – $8,500

MetaZoo Golden Ticket

Next up is the MetaZoo Wilderness Golden Ticket. I went into depth on this card last month (check out my post about the Golden Ticket HERE) so I won’t talk about it too much. But the bottom line is this is a very elusive and expensive card to say the least.

This card is like the Willy Wonka golden ticket of the MetaZoo world. Its rarity is unquestionable, and owning one is like holding a piece of pure MetaZoo gold. The Wilderness theme captures the essence of adventure and exploration, resonating with collectors who enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

Its limited availability adds to its allure and makes it a significant investment piece for any TCG or MetaZoo collection.

Values are still holding very strong on this card purely because it’s nearly impossible to find. There are only a handful Golden Tickets known to exist so far.

And with all of the possibilities we talked about in our previous post about what you might get from redeeming this card, it’s no wonder it’s worth in the high thousands.

3. MetaZoo Cryptid Nation 1st Edition Red Ink – $4,000

MetaZoo Red Ink

The MetaZoo Cryptid Nation 1st Edition Red Ink card is a true gem and it’s another great card that I wrote about in my recent “The MetaZoo Rarest Cards” post.

If you’re lucky and found one in the Cryptid Nation 1st Edition Box Topper pack, you hit a massive home run. There are only (46) of these card that have been found and graded by PSA so far and this tells you a lot about how hard these are to find.

Is this card worth $4,000+ right now? Yes, I believe it is. If you’ve ever heard the saying that a card is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

So in this case when it comes to the Red Ink, there have been sales over the last few months in this price range so it’s worth in that $3,000 to $5,000 range.

There are only so many Cryptid Nation 1st Edition boxes to go around and you only get one box topper pack per box. That just tells you that few of these Red Ink cards are out there.

If you are a true MetaZoo believer and think this company will continue it’s upward trajectory in the TCG market, the Red Ink will continue to be one of the most expensive MetaZoo cards you’ll ever find.

4. MetaZoo Cryptid Nation Kickstarter Mothman Full Holo PSA 10 – $2,000

MetaZoo Kickstarter Mothman Full Holo

Next up is the MetaZoo Cryptid Nation Kickstarter Mothman Full Holo. This card is a legend in its own right. Originating from the Kickstarter phase of MetaZoo, it holds historical significance and a certain nostalgic charm.

The full holo Mothman is a symbol of the game’s folklore-rich universe, making it a prized possession for those who value the lore and mystique of MetaZoo. Its Kickstarter origin means limited availability, enhancing its value and investment potential.

If you had to pick one particular card that would be the cornerstone of the ultimate MetaZoo collection, the grail would be a Kickstarter Mothman Full Holo graded GEM MINT PSA 10.

There is no better card, and honestly I wish I purchased a bunch of these back when they were $700-$800!

If you’re interested in obtaining one of these grail cards from MetaZoo’s first release, they’re still within sight when it comes to prices. You can still find these in the $1500-$2000 price range on eBay.

The markets have been down the last few months across just about every trading card game so you probably won’t find prices as low as this going forward. The time to buy is now.

5. MetaZoo UFO Foo Fighters Holo Secret Rare – $1,800

MetaZoo Foo Fighters Secret Rare

Alien enthusiasts, get ready! The MetaZoo UFO Foo Fighters Holo Secret Rare card is out of this world, both in design and value. The holographic detail and the unique UFO theme make this card a visual spectacle and worthy of a spot in your MetaZoo collection….that is if you can afford it!

Its status as a secret rare elevates it to a level of prestige and desirability, ensuring that it’s not just a collector’s item but also a wise investment.

Being that these Secret Rare Foo Fighters cards are individually numbered and that only 10 exist in the world makes this card a massive bargain compared to the others on this list.

Asking price for this CGC 9.5 graded version was nearly $4,000 and the buyer ended up settling for much less at $1,800.

This card has a lot going for it. First it’s numbered 01/10 so it’s the number 1 serialized card out of 10 made. Second, it’s got the eye apeal with the freaky aliens on the front of the card hovering in their colorful spheres.

And third, the artist was PONCHO, a very popular artist with MetaZoo prior to his departure this past month. This particular card was also featured on CGC cards Instagram & Twitter back in July 2022 so it has a bit of notoriety in the market.

A great find and super cheap to be honest.

Wrapping it up…

In the world of MetaZoo, these cards are more than just cardboard cutouts used to play a game. They are artifacts that encapsulate the spirit of adventure, mystery, and the pursuit of extraordinary rare grails that only few can possess.

As a collector and investor, you’re not just buying cards, you’re acquiring pieces of the magical world of MetaZoo, each with its own story and potential.

The thrill of the hunt, the joy of discovery, and the satisfaction of owning these rare treasures are what make MetaZoo not just a game, but a passion for many.

It sounds corny, I know. But it’s the truth. Owning those very rare and expensive cards is something we all would like to do. So, whether you’re a seasoned collector, a budding investor, or just someone who loves the allure of the MetaZoo universe, keep hunting for those ultra rare cards for your collection too!

I hope you enjoyed checking out the most expensive MetaZoo cards that were recently sold and we’ll see you next time. And remember, keep collecting Magic, MetaZoo and whatever else you enjoy! Later.
