Updated on February 17, 2024The recent news that MetaZoo has shut down its operations have had a fairly large impact on booster box prices. This is welcome news to collectors, but not so much for those that purchased boxes at higher prices just months ago.
In an effort to get a better feel of the MetaZoo Booster Box market, we employed a Python code that we wrote here at MagicCardInvestor.com to pull current box prices on eBay in the USA. Here are some of the parameters:
- We only pulled FREE SHIPPING listings
- We set a low and high price. This is not every listing on eBay, but just the ones falling in the lowest range.
- We used negative keywords to try and flush out some listings that didn’t meet our criteria.
- We only looked at items FOR SALE, not sold.
That being said, here is a breakdown of the current METAZOO BOOSTER BOX market on eBay. Please note that all prices below are as of February 17, 2024 – 07:45AM ET.

Box prices are well off their highs, but are continuing to be stable in the price ranges above. For some of the boxes that had higher print runs (like Cryptid Nation 2nd Edition, Wilderness and UFO) I would expect further downward pressure on prices over the next few weeks.
Buying in quantity will most likely get you an even better price. For some of those same higher print run boxes, if you’re able to buy 12-box cases you can sometimes get the box price into the mid to high TEENS!! Here are some recent case sales:

- MetaZoo SEANCE Booster Box Case (12 Booster Boxes) – $399.00 (sold 2/15/24) – $33.25/box
- MetaZoo Nightfall 12-box Booster Case – $303.65 (sold 2/15/24) – $25.30/box
- MetaZoo Wilderness 12-box Booster Case – $229.99 (sold 2/11/24) – $19.17/box!
We’ll continue to monitor the market and see what happens over time to the prices of these booster boxes. As it stands, no official updates have come from the MetaZoo company so it’s up in the air where the company goes from here.
However, it’s clear to see that booster box prices are well off their all time highs (ATH) and further price adjustments could be in store for the upcoming months.
